Over the years we have seen some pretty creative ideas for button graphics. You can explore some ideas (even free ones) here on Tecre’s Button Blog. But when it comes to laying out graphics, most of our customers are aware that software programs like CorelDraw or Adobe are going to be the most useful.
Still, since graphic software can be costly, we do encounter individuals that desire to make button graphics in alternative software programs. One of these being the Cricut Design Space software.
So we wondered, is it possible to lay out and print graphics for buttons with Cricut Design Space? It turn out, it is! And here is the step by step guide on how to do it:

Why just print it? Why not print AND cut – would save a lot of time.
Yes! If possible to cut around the edge that would be ideal! The only reason that wasn’t included here was it was simply unknown if that was possible to only cut around the outside circle edge. We should have added the disclaimer that those more familiar with Design Space may know lots of tips and tricks to make this process even better!!!
Thank you! I will try this in the future. It sounds a lot faster and my arm gets tired cutting them.

Than you for your message! We will be contacting you from tecresalesteam@tecre.com. Thank you!
I routinely use the Silhouette Cameo program (Silhouette Studio) to design my buttons. I use it 2 ways: 1) using the Silhouette to cut out the design and 2) designing the buttons and hand cutting. I can get more designs per page if I cut them out myself so usually use that option. I only use Epson photo matter paper (the thinner one) so the images are crisp and vibrant.
The layer function in the program allows me to use the guidelines for the image, the taglne and the cutting lines on one layer that is on top and locked. I even place small tics at 12-3-6-9 o’clock to help position the image straight in the die. There is the option of placing text around the circle so you get perfect taglines.
I’ve used the Cricut program in the past but the Silhouette Studio is much more versatile for someone who wants to design. The program is free to download even if you do not have a Silhouette so anyone can give it a try. I have upgraded to the Business Edition because of the additional features. It is a one-time upgrade that allows you to install the program on several computers.
Thank you for sharing this great tip! Since we do not product the buttons, we find our customers are the experts on user-friendly graphic programs and options. Thank you for being willing to share!
